Skin diseases in animals

Gyvūnų odos ligos

As the skin is the largest organ in animals, dermatology covers a relatively large proportion of diseases in veterinary practice.

The most common conditions are:

  • Increased coat loss;
  • itching;
  • foot licking;
  • ear canal disorders;
  • parasitic skin diseases.

Hundreds of different skin diseases are counted. Many of them look very similar with only subtle nuances in the clinical picture and differences in the course of the disease. The most common non-complaint when visiting a veterinary dermatologist is persistent scratching and itching of the pet. The treatment of skin diseases can be complex and frustrating for both owners and veterinarians. Several treatments may be needed to diagnose the specific causes of the itching.

You will hear more about the most common skin diseases, their signs, diagnosis, prevention and treatment in a special educational video prepared by our clinic. Don’t forget to keep an eye on your pet’s health!
