Veterinary radiology is advanced imaging diagnostics that helps accurately assess an animal’s internal organs, bones, joints, spine and soft tissues. It allows important data to be collected that is necessary for accurate diagnosis, disease monitoring and effective treatment planning.
At our clinic, ultrasound, X-ray, computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging examinations are performed. Modern diagnostic equipment allows the cause of illness to be determined quickly and accurately and the most suitable treatment plan to be selected.
Most common diseases and disorders
- Liver diseases — hepatitis, tumors, lipidosis, gallbladder mucocele
- Urinary tract diseases — cystitis, stones
- Urinary system diseases — stones in the urinary tract
- Gastrointestinal tract diseases — inflammations, foreign bodies, pancreatitis
- Reproductive system diseases — pyometra, prostatic hyperplasia
- Oncological diseases — tumors
- Chest diseases — pneumonia, pulmonary edema
Diagnostics
- Ultrasound examination – animal examinations with ultrasound are one of the most commonly performed tests. It is non-invasive, painless and highly informative. The examination can be performed on the heart, liver, spleen, endocrine glands, reproductive system, as well as the urinary bladder, kidneys and gastrointestinal tract. Usually, light sedation is not required, unless the animal is aggressive or experiences severe stress.
- X-ray examination – a fast, effective and completely painless examination that helps diagnose various skeletal and organ abnormalities or injuries: assess the lungs, heart and circulatory system, bones and joints, monitor treatment progress after fractures, and so on.
- Computed tomography (CT) – a modern and accurate imaging diagnostic method that allows detailed assessment of bone structures, joints, skull, spine, chest and abdominal organs. During the examination, X-rays and computer analysis are used to create cross-sectional images of the body. The examination is performed under general anesthesia so that the animal remains completely still and the highest image quality is achieved.
- Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) – an advanced and accurate diagnostic test that allows detailed assessment of the animal’s brain and spinal cord, spine and other soft tissues.
